PENOBSCOT — Priscilla M. Bowden, 77, was ushered into heaven and the presence of her Savior on Oct. 15, 2012, with her loving family by her side. She was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Penobscot, to Leeman and Ethel (Perkins) Bowden.
Priscilla was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to the service of the Lord and care of her family. She always enjoyed tending her flowers and feeding the birds, especially cardinals. She served as the Penobscot town clerk for 21 years and later worked at Maine Maritime Academy and in the family business, Bowden & Son. She was a very faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 53 years, Allen Bowden; her daughter, Miriam, and husband, Paul White of Orrington; son, Gregory Bowden and wife, Karen, of Penobscot; and a wonderful grandson, Ross Bowden of Penobscot. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Albert, Paul, and Basil; and her sister, Alda.
There will be no visitation, funeral services will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 50 School St., Ellsworth, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012. Burial will be private for the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
